Bhavana Rakesh
Co-Founder and CEO
Ms. Bhavana Rakesh serves as Axiom’s Chief Executive Officer. She has a valuable blend of strategic vision, a big-picture perspective, analytical expertise, and commitment to achieving objectives. Ms. Rakesh has built a customer-first approach and inspires employees to improve services to the customer continuously. Bhavana brings close to 20 years of experience in the Federal Government Sector in technical innovation and program management support. Under her leadership, Axiom has expanded its client base while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and employee welfare.
Bhavana has a Bachelor‘s of Science in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. She’s an alumnus of George Washington University with an M.S. in Information Systems.
Rakesh Peter
Co-Founder and COO
Mr. Rakesh Peter serves as Axiom’s Chief Operating Officer, focused on project delivery and operations covering Civilian and DoD programs. Rakesh brings over 24 years of experience in the Commercial and Federal Government Sectors in large scale program delivery and operations. Before co-founding Axiom, Rakesh served in various key project leadership roles. Customers supported include State of Kentucky, startups in the Silicon Valley, Carefirst BlueCross BlueShield, Department of Commerce (DOC), Department of Navy and various non-profit organizations. Rakesh has helped implement the “quality is key” core value by heading the quality assurance and customer relations program at Axiom. He has helped Axiom achieve CMMI Level 3 for Development and Services in addition to ISO 9001: 2015 certifications.
Rakesh received his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from India and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. He holds professional certifications as a Project Management Project Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
Robert Brunner
CTO
Brunner is the Chief Technology Officer at Axiom and focuses on providing Axiom’s customers with his technological vision, strategies, and ensuring that the solutions address and take advantage of emerging Technologies. Mr. Brunner has extensive experience in leadership roles for the government and as a contractor. Starting in 1984 Mr. Brunner has worked with the Department of Agriculture (DOA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Commerce (DOC), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA).
While working for NOAA Mr. Brunner ran the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Program, the Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) program, and was responsible for the establishment and running of the NOAA Security Operations Center (SOC).
Other roles included being the Deputy Director of IT Security at NOAA director and coordinator for the NOAA IT Security Awareness Training course.
Mr. Brunner graduated from University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and has held Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Rahul Dayal
Vice President of Growth
Mr. Rahul Dayal serves as Axiom’s Vice President of Growth, focused on business development and corporate growth strategy and formulation covering Civilian and DoD programs. Rahul brings over 18 years of experience in the Government Sector in business development, program/project management, and corporate strategy. Before joining Axiom, Rahul served in various key leadership roles. Customers supported include Department of Commerce (DOC), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Dept. of Education (ED), Army National Guard (ARNG), Dept. of Commerce (NOAA), Office of Personnel Management (OPM), United States Postal Service (USPS), and the Dept. of Energy (DOE) as well as the State of Florida and North Carolina.
Rahul received his Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Information Systems Management, and holds professional certifications as a Project Management Project Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Practitioner.
Sheema Lett
Science Division Director
As Director of Science Business Programs, Ms. Sheema Lett is responsible for overseeing and expanding Axiom’s work with the NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP); and standing up Axiom’s Health IT division in Atlanta. She has more than 18 years of operational meteorology as a USAF weather forecaster, and program management managing over $50M programs annually. Her experience in strategic planning for the Air Force’s weather satellite programs and supporting NWS’ modeling and research initiatives allows for an intimate understanding of the science needs of our government clients.
Sheema brings a “lead from the rear” approach that fosters creativity, innovation, and increased productivity from our diverse pool of Axiom staff who possess top notch skillsets most desirable for the science and technology industry. She is also a strong advocate of Axiom’s customer-centric culture and values satisfaction of our people.
Sheema is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, holds an MBA, and a B.S. from Temple University
